Dr. Zheng was born into a family of physicians. In 1983, he graduated with the highest academic honors from Shandong Medical University in China. During his doctoral research in Japan, he sharpened his clinical skills even further. From 1996 to 1999, he completed family practice residency at Texas Tech University. He is certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is also a staff physician at Sutter and Mercy General Hospitals. He has almost 40 years of clinical experience, including in preventive care, sports medicine, and office surgeries.
Dr. Zheng has been actively involved in many different community service organizations and volunteer programs. He is one of the founders and the first president of the Chinese American Medical Association of California (CAMAC).
Dr. Zheng loves spending time with his patients, understanding their stories and issues, and building strong relationships with them and their family members.
Mr. Vuong achieved his board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2005 by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners after he graduated from California State University, Long Beach. Kevin finished his internship and residency at Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, the Greater Los Angeles Veteran Affairs Hospital and the Vietnamese Community Asian Health Center in Orange County.
Kevin assists our medical office’s services in many ways with his many skills as a nurse practitioner. He speaks Vietnamese, Cantonese and Mandarin fluently and deeply understands the cultural differences between minority groups. Kevin genuinely cares about his patients and their families.
Kevin has a professional interest in Emergency Medicine, COPD, hypertension, and public health. Kevin is affiliated with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International.
Rachel completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees in nursing at the University of Illinois. She is nationally certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses credentialing center (ANCC) and she is also a current member of the California Association of Nurse Practitioners. She has been working in health care for over 15 years. Family medicine is her passion, because she wants to help people find ways to healthier and longer lives. As a nurse practitioner, she has cared for a diverse group of people across the lifespan, from young to old.
She manages chronic and acute conditions such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, COPD, CHF, and diabetes, as well as episodic illnesses. She also manages patients with psychiatric illnesses such as depression and anxiety. She provides annual wellness exams for women, including Pap smears and breast screenings, and educates female patients on birth control and hormone replacement therapy. She also performs school physicals and adult yearly physicals. She understands that people’s cultural beliefs and values are deeply interwoven into their physical and emotional health. She is fluent in English and Chinese. She believes in the value of building a strong and trusting relationship with her patients and their family members. She wants to be her patients’ advocate and partner when it comes to their health and overall wellbeing.
Catherine is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who received a master’s degree in Nursing at the State University of New York at Binghamton and bachelor’s degree in Nursing from University of Alabama at Birmingham. Catherine practiced in Primary care providing culturally sensitive care to patients with culturally diverse backgrounds in NYC.
She managed acute and chronic illnesses in adults and elderly patients focusing on disease prevention, health maintenance, risk reduction and patient education. Her nursing background includes Critical care, Telemetry and Emergency Department. She also worked as an inpatient coordinator RN in South Korea’s leading hospital, acting as a liaison between international patients and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
She moved to CA this year and is excited to serve people in her community. She is fluent in English and Korean and speaks basic Spanish. Catherine believes compassionate care and ability to communicate with warmth and empathy can bring the best possible outcome for the patient.
Dr. Yin Qiu has been trained in both Traditional Chinese Medicine as well as Western Medicine. She is a licensed Acupuncturist and an herbal specialist. After graduating from medical school in 1983, she worked in neurology at a medical center in China. Then, as an exchange scholar, she traveled to Japan where she received her PhD in Medical Science. She has over 30 years of clinical experience in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine, and has practiced in China, Japan and the United States.
